Thing 9: Evernote

I just recently discovered Evernote, and am still figuring out how to use it to its full capacity. So far I use it to gather webpages that I like rather than bookmarking them, although I know Evernote is so much more than that. I have also used it to take notes at a few meetings and conferences, which has turned out to be quite handy because you can incorporate links to handouts and slideshares with your notes. I've recently gotten better about tagging things, too. I know it's smart, it's just sometimes tough to keep track of what exact tag you used. I mean, did I tag with "lesson idea" or "lesson ideas"? :)
One extra function that I explored was connecting Evernote to my Twitter account. I DMed myself a message using @myEN, and I tweeted regularly and included @myEN in the message. Both worked beautifully, but I'm not sure what purpose they truly serve. Wouldn't it just be easier to open Evernote and write whatever it is down? Perhaps this is meant for people who are not able to download Evernote on that computer? I can see how retweeting something to Evernote might be helpful, but I can't seem to figure out how to add anything to something I retweet anymore. It actually has to be copied and pasted if you want to add something (like @myEN).
All in all, I definitely plan on continuing to use Evernote, and hope to continue to learn how to use all its functions.
